Connect ChatGPT to your accounting books (Malaysia, 2026)
Baca panduan ini dalam Bahasa Malaysia →
ChatGPT can read your live accounting books and prepare drafts for you — sales, who owes you money, what you spent, what is left in stock. Every step below was performed on ChatGPT Plus on the web on 30 August 2026, in the order it is written. Nothing reaches your ledger until you approve it in Taokeh.
The short version
- You need ChatGPT Plus or higher, on the web. A Free account cannot add a custom plugin, and the phone app has no plugin screen.
- Turn on Developer mode under Settings → Security and login, then add a plugin: name Taokeh, Server URL https://taokeh.my/mcp, authentication OAuth.
- ChatGPT warns that OpenAI has not reviewed the server. That warning appears for every custom connector, not only ours.
- Sign in to Taokeh when the login screen appears and pick the company this connection is for.
- ChatGPT reads your reports and files pending drafts. It cannot post, approve, edit history or move money, and you reject a draft with one tap.
- The connector is RM29 a month and is included in the 14-day free trial. Confirm the current price on the pricing page.
What you need before you start
Two things on the ChatGPT side, one on ours.
- ChatGPT Plus or higher. A Free account cannot add a custom plugin, so the first step below has nothing to switch on.
- A browser. Do this in ChatGPT on the web — the phone app has no plugin screen.
- Your Taokeh login, with the Ask Taokeh connector switched on for your company. It is RM29 a month and included in the 14-day free trial; confirm the current price on the pricing page.
The steps, in order
Every step here was performed on ChatGPT Plus on the web on 30 August 2026.
- One. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode. It carries an "Elevated risk" label, which applies to unreviewed third-party servers in general — the next section says what it means here.
- Two. Open Settings → Plugins → Browse plugins, then click the + button for a new plugin.
- Three. Fill the form. Name: Taokeh. Connection: Server URL, then https://taokeh.my/mcp. Authentication: OAuth.
- Four. ChatGPT shows a warning that OpenAI has not reviewed this server. Tick "I understand" and press Create.
- Five. A Taokeh login screen appears. Sign in and pick the company you want this connection to read.
- Six. Start a new chat and ask "How’s my business doing this month?" If ChatGPT answers without using the connection, say "use my Taokeh connection."
The warning, and why it is fine here
OpenAI reviews no custom connector, so that warning appears on every one of them. It is not a judgement about Taokeh.
- What the connection allows is narrow: ChatGPT reads your reports and creates pending drafts.
- It cannot post to your books, approve anything, edit history or touch money.
- Every draft waits in Taokeh for you, and you reject it with one tap.
Your first question
Start with something you would otherwise open a report for.
- "How’s my business doing this month?" is where the steps above end, and the answer is read from your live ledger.
- If ChatGPT answers without opening your books, tell it to "use my Taokeh connection." That is usually all it needs.
- From there, ask who owes you money, what you have spent this month, or how many units of a product are left.
Using Claude or another assistant instead
These clicks are ChatGPT’s. For the background — what the connection is, what it costs, and which other assistants it works with — read connect Claude or ChatGPT to your accounting books.
- The address is the same everywhere: https://taokeh.my/mcp.
- So is the safety model — it reads freely, drafts every entry, and a person approves.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need ChatGPT Plus?
Yes. A Free ChatGPT account cannot add a custom plugin, so there is no way to reach your books from it. Plus or higher, and on the web — the phone app has no plugin screen.
Why does ChatGPT warn me about the server?
Because OpenAI reviews no custom connector, so the warning appears for every one of them, ours included. What the connection allows is narrow: ChatGPT reads your reports and files pending drafts, and it cannot post, approve, edit history or move money.
Can ChatGPT post an entry into my books?
No. It files a pending draft that waits in Taokeh for you, and you approve it or reject it with one tap. It cannot post, approve, edit history or touch money.
Which company does the connection read?
The one you pick when you sign in. After you press Create, ChatGPT sends you to a Taokeh login screen, and you choose the company this connection is for.
What does it cost?
The Ask Taokeh connector is RM29 a month and is included in the 14-day free trial. You bring your own ChatGPT subscription. Confirm the current price on the Taokeh pricing page.
